StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications is committed to providing a fair, transparent, and professional process for handling complaints and appeals. This policy outlines the procedures for submitting complaints against the journal, its editorial staff, editorial board, or publisher, as well as the process for handling appeals. The journal aims to ensure that all complaints are addressed promptly, impartially, and with due consideration in order to preserve the integrity of its scholarly publications. StatX follows the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Complaints may include, but are not limited to, the following issues:
Authors, reviewers, readers, or other concerned individuals may submit a complaint regarding any aspect of the journal’s operations through the journal’s official contact email. The complaint should include the complainant’s contact information, a clear description of the issue, and any supporting evidence or relevant documentation.
StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications recognizes the importance of protecting the confidentiality and anonymity of both the complainant and the individuals involved in the complaint process. Complaints will be handled in strict confidence, and personal information will only be shared with those directly involved in the assessment and investigation of the case.
Upon receiving a complaint, the editorial office of StatX will conduct an initial assessment to determine whether the complaint falls within the scope of this policy and whether it raises a serious and credible concern. If the complaint does not fall within the scope of this policy, the complainant will be informed accordingly and, where possible, directed to the appropriate authority or channel.
If a complaint is considered valid and within the scope of this policy, the editorial board of StatX will initiate an appropriate investigation. The investigation may include collecting additional information, consulting relevant parties, and reviewing any supporting documentation or evidence related to the complaint.
If the complaint involves a member of the editorial board, editorial staff, or the publisher, appropriate measures will be taken to ensure that the individuals concerned are not involved in the investigation or decision-making process, in order to maintain fairness and impartiality.
StatX will make every reasonable effort to resolve complaints as promptly as possible. Once the investigation has been completed, the complainant will be informed of the outcome and of any actions taken in response to the complaint, subject to confidentiality and legal considerations.
If the complainant is dissatisfied with the outcome of the initial investigation, an appeal may be submitted. The appeal must clearly explain the reasons for challenging the decision and should include any additional evidence, clarification, or supporting information.
Appeals will be reviewed by individuals who were not directly involved in the original complaint investigation. Where necessary, the journal may appoint an independent appeals panel or seek advice from external experts to ensure a fair and unbiased reassessment of the case.
The decision reached through the appeals process will be considered final. The journal will communicate the final outcome to the complainant and provide an explanation of the decision, where appropriate.
To support accountability and continuous improvement, StatX may maintain internal records of complaints received, their resolution, and any actions taken. Information disclosed publicly, if any, will be presented in an anonymized form and only where appropriate, with due regard for privacy, confidentiality, and legal obligations.
StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications will periodically review and update this policy to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with best practices in scholarly publishing. Any revisions will be communicated appropriately and made available on the journal’s website.
