Data and Reproducibility

StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications is committed to promoting transparency, scientific rigor, and reproducibility in scholarly research. This policy outlines the journal’s approach to data availability and encourages the use of appropriate reporting guidelines, as well as the registration of clinical trials and other relevant study designs where applicable. The journal follows the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Data Availability

StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications encourages authors to make the data underlying their research findings available and accessible whenever possible. Authors should provide sufficient information about the data collection process, methodology, and analytical procedures to enable readers and reviewers to understand, verify, and, where appropriate, reproduce the reported results.

In certain cases, the journal may request access to raw data, supporting materials, code, or additional documentation for editorial review.

For Quantitative Research

Authors are encouraged to deposit datasets in reputable data repositories or provide a stable link to the data in the manuscript. If data cannot be shared publicly due to ethical, legal, privacy, or contractual restrictions, authors should clearly explain these limitations and, where possible, describe a mechanism through which the journal or qualified readers may request access.

For Qualitative Research

Authors should provide clear and detailed descriptions of the data sources, context, and methods used in the study. Where appropriate and ethically permissible, authors are encouraged to provide excerpts, anonymized examples, or representative materials that support the interpretation of the findings.

Reporting Guidelines

StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications encourages authors to follow relevant reporting guidelines appropriate to their study design and discipline. Adherence to such guidelines improves the clarity, completeness, and transparency of research reporting, and helps readers, reviewers, and editors evaluate the quality and reproducibility of the work.

Clinical Trial Registration

For clinical trials or other studies involving human participants where registration is considered standard practice, authors should register the study in an appropriate public registry before participant enrollment. StatX supports the principles of the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (WHO ICTRP) and encourages registration in accordance with recognized international standards.

Reproducibility and Verification

StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications recognizes the importance of reproducibility in research. Authors should provide sufficient methodological detail, including descriptions of protocols, statistical procedures, software, models, and analytical approaches, so that other researchers can understand and, where feasible, reproduce the study findings.

Data Citation

Authors should properly cite all datasets, software, repositories, and other research materials used in their study. Data citations should be included in the reference list using an appropriate and consistent citation format to ensure proper attribution and traceability.

Compliance Check

The editorial board and peer reviewers of StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications may assess compliance with this policy during the manuscript evaluation process. Authors may be asked to provide additional information, clarification, or supporting documentation regarding data availability, reporting standards, and reproducibility.

Review of the Policy

StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications will periodically review and update this policy to ensure alignment with evolving best practices in data sharing, reporting transparency, and research reproducibility. Any revisions to this policy will be communicated to authors and made publicly available on the journal’s website.
