StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications encourages open discussion and transparency in scholarly publishing. This policy outlines the journal’s commitment to facilitating post-publication discussion and to providing appropriate mechanisms for correcting, revising, or retracting articles after publication in order to maintain the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal follows the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications welcomes post-publication discussion of published articles. Authors, readers, and the wider academic community are encouraged to engage in constructive, respectful, and evidence-based discussion regarding the content, methods, and findings of published works.
The journal provides the following avenues for post-publication discussion:
Letters to the Editor
Readers may submit letters to the editor containing comments, critiques, responses, or additional insights related to a published article. The editorial board may consider selected letters for publication in order to support scholarly dialogue and critical engagement.
Comments through the Journal Submission System
For editorial and security reasons, the journal does not provide an open comment feature directly on the website. Readers who wish to comment on published articles are encouraged to submit their comments formally through the journal’s submission or correspondence system so that the discussion can be managed responsibly and professionally.
External Moderated Platforms
The journal recognizes the value of independent moderated platforms, such as scholarly discussion forums and post-publication review platforms, in supporting academic dialogue. Readers may use such platforms to discuss articles published in StatX, provided that the discussion remains scholarly, respectful, and evidence-based.
StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications is committed to ensuring the accuracy and trustworthiness of its published content. When errors, inaccuracies, or serious concerns are identified after publication, the journal may take one of the following actions:
Corrections
If minor errors are identified that do not significantly affect the scientific content, interpretation, or conclusions of the article, the journal may publish a formal correction. The correction will clearly identify the error and provide the accurate information.
Revisions
If substantial errors or inaccuracies are found that affect parts of the scientific content but do not invalidate the entire work, the author(s) may be requested to submit a revised version of the article. The revised version will be subject to editorial assessment and, where necessary, additional review. If accepted, it will be published with a clear note indicating that it is a revised version of the original article.
Retractions
In cases involving serious ethical violations, major errors, misconduct, or fraudulent or unreliable data, the journal may retract the article. Retractions will be issued when there is clear evidence that the findings or content of the article are unreliable or unethical. A retracted article will remain part of the scholarly record whenever possible, but it will be clearly marked as retracted and accompanied by an explanation for the retraction.
Editors, reviewers, and authors associated with StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications are expected to comply with this policy and to cooperate in post-publication discussions, corrections, and other editorial actions when necessary.
All formal corrections, revisions, retractions, and related editorial notices will be documented and made publicly available on the journal’s website in the interest of transparency and accountability.
StatX: Journal of Advanced Statistical Methods and Applications will periodically review and update this policy to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with best practices in scholarly publishing. Any revisions to this policy will be communicated appropriately and published on the journal’s website.
